At Vivolo olé!, we bring Spanish joie de vivre and delicious dishes in an authentic setting. Hand-painted Moorish tiles and ceilings, hanging Serrano ham, atmospheric arches, and a bubbling fountain invite you to enjoy selected dishes in the restaurant or on the large sun terrace at Hackescher Markt.

Under the hot Spanish sun, an edible cover (tapa = cover) was placed on the sherry glass to prevent uninvited, sweet-toothed flies from falling into the glass. This "cover" initially consisted only of a slice of ham or cheese. Over time, this edible cover gave way to a proper plate the size of a saucer, on which increasingly refined and delicious appetizers were arranged. Today, tapas are enjoyed in many different variations.
THE EXPERIENCE
Going out in the evening to eat tapas and drink a good wine or a cool beer is a Spanish tradition. Originating from Andalusia, tapas have long established themselves throughout the country and are an integral part of Spanish cuisine. Today, the tapas culture is very pronounced and varied, but few people know that the history of tapas began with a glass of sherry and a slice of ham.
